Alex qualified MRICS while at Weatherall Green & Smith in the 1990s, before joining the industrial team of the UK’s largest property-owning pension fund, Coal Pension Properties (managed by LaSalle Investment Management) under Ian Culwick and Brian Ellinthorpe. He later joined Savills Commercial and the teams that manage several large pension fund mandates including Diageo’s and the Charities Property fund. In 2009 Alex left the mortally wounded Drivers Jonas before its takeover by Deloitte and made his first industrial investment, the Royal London industrial estate in Park Royal. Since 2009 Alex has bought, managed, let, refurbished and sold approximately fifteen industrial properties, through limited companies and partnerships, many of which were with Space Property – leading to the idea to formalise the relationship and form Kingston Space Properties.
Alex excels at finding off-market opportunities and identifying emerging industry trends, with a hands-on approach to managing projects from inception to delivery. Alex has a degree in Biological Sciences from Exeter University (1994) which predates Weatherall Green & Smith and Postgraduate Diploma in Estate Management from South Bank polytechnic.
